Certification of the Equality Trainers

The EU Twinning Project 'normallydifferent' organized the certification ceremony for 15 trainers, coming from Kosovo institutions of education, police, judiciary and administration, on October 23, 2015 in Villa Gërmia, followed by a reception. This event marked the successful conclusion of the 12-day rigorous Train-the-Trainers Program, wherein trainers underwent intensive learning process and proved themselves in training settings. This ceremony crowned their efforts by bestowing them the title of Equality Trainers - specialized in encouraging promotion of equal opportunities and equal treatment for an inclusive society.

Mr Libor Chlad from EUO, Ms Sadete Demaj-Kajtazi from OGG/Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Christian Geosits from Austrian Development Agency, Mr Arber Nuhiu from CSGD - an NGO dealing with LGBT rights, and many other esteemed guests from USAID and YIHR and other partners, friends, contributors and supporters attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Mr Chlad provided background information about the project and acknowledged its efforts and underlined the appreciation of the European Union of the values that the trainers committed to impart to their peers, while Ms Demaj walked the audience through the contribution provided by governmental stakeholders in making this program a success story and thanked them for their continous enthusiasm for equality.

Judge Rexhiq, while speaking on behalf of all the trainers, extended the group’s appreciation and gratitude to all the stakeholders that made this program possible and pledged the group’s commitment is combating discrimination on the LGBT related basis.
